Introduction
Music is all around us. Everyone listens to music for fun, every store is playing music when people walk in, advertisements are full of jingles and background music, even some elevators start playing music when entered. People are always listening, whether intentionally or not.
But what is music really? A set of sounds that for some reason the human brain decided sounds good. But why are there some "sets of sounds" that humanity can collectively agree sound good, and some humanity can agree sound terrible? Surprisingly, that can be explained with math.
